From the very little bit of knowledge I have relating to the bible and my faith therein, I think this Harold Camping believes he is the FATHER of Jesus Christ based on Mat 24:36 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Sad. Sad that it wasn't true because no-one will ever listen to these type of people again. If you cry wolf to often, no one listens. Even if they are telling the truth or really know something for sure, no one will listen. I think Harold Camping just ended it all for the people trying to warn us or spread religion by fear.
It's just amazing to me that most Christians didn't want to believe Camping. All he was doing was taking a very believable calculated stab at when it would happen. I for one was hoping he got it wrong again but he has to be close in figuring it out. I hope he tries to figure it out again because honestly, he is only trying to help us. Most of the Christians are caught on one little verse in the bible that no man will know. However, there are many more verses in the bible that says that the closer it gets, we will be warned. I could go on and on why Camping is not a false Prophet too. A Prophet sees the future through visions. All Camping did was try to predict when it would happen. Just like our weathermen try to predict the weather. They take what information they have and work with it. So thank you Harold Camping for trying to give us a date so we could get more prepared for it. I feel bad for the mean things people are saying about you. You were only trying to help.

I know and have met Harold Camping. He use to attend our Christian conference center for many years untill he began to
go off the deep end with his predictions of end times, end of church age, the bible only ( according to Harold). I have
seen many of his followers, sell all they have, a few commited sucied(I`ve heard) I know for a fact back in the 80s a group of his followers actually kidnaped a girl and moved out west becauise of him. I personally talked to him at one of
his meetings and told him of an experience of salvation that I had, He basically told me that it did not happen. It was at
that point that I realized he was devoide of the Holy Spirit as well as a man who is working for the devil.
I feel sorry for his followers and it will be hard for them to purge them selves of him. Gods grace is sufficient.

GOD ALWAYS FOREWARNS HIS PEOPLE
It is now time for us to look at other information in the Bible that your church or pastor probably would not want you to consider; but in order to prove that we can know the timing of the end, we must first see what the rest of the Bible has to say about it. For instance, God makes this statement in the book of Amos, chapter 3:
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Spiritually speaking, a prophet is anyone who declares the Word of God. An individual believer therefore fulfills the role of a prophet as we share the Gospel with other people. The Lord is telling us in Amos 3:7 that He discloses information to His people. He says that He will indeed “do nothing” without first revealing “His secret unto His servants.” As we review the Bible’s history, we actually do see this important truth in evidence again and again.
Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 12:9-10 …Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end...none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Most definitely, it was the Lord’s intention to seal up His Word (the Bible) until the time of the end. But then notice, God points out how “none of the wicked” will be able to understand. Understand what? Well, He is referring to understanding the Word of God that will be unsealed at the time of the end. None of the unsaved of the world will understand these things, just like the people of the world of Noah’s day did not regard the warning of the flood and just like Lot’s sons-in-law dismissed the warning given to them to flee the city. Likewise today, none of the unsaved understand; however, “the wise” will understand. The “wise” understand only because of God’s great mercy. The Lord expresses this truth once again in these wonderful verses:
Ecclesiastes 8:5 …and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.
Proverbs 28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
Finally, whether or not we know that May 21 in 2011 is Judgment Day rests on whether or not God has opened up our eyes to understand these things. If He has, we will know that May 21, 2011 is the Day of the Lord’s Wrath. If He has not opened our eyes, then we will not know. The Bible tells us that the majority of people in the world are not chosen to salvation. This is why Christ comes unexpectedly for billions of people. They do not understand spiritual things. Since they do not have God’s Spirit, they are not going to take warning and they are not going to understand. Sadly, they will surely perish.

I hear you... I just think the poor understanding of eschatology in today's world has led to an insane level of ignorance and wasted lives. 54% of Americans believe Jesus is returning. That's alarming, especially because they demand this belief from their politicians and presidents.
The Bible states in the book of Matthew that no man knows the day or the hour that Jesus will come back, No man knows the day of the Rapture, or of Judgement . What hypocritical people we have in the world. I may not believe what this man is saying, but it gives me no right to judge him. Who are you to judge a man that has so much faith that he puts his very word into his God. I'm from nova scotia too.. but currently live in the FAR East (Maritimes being the 'near East').. it's amazing how many people have at least heard of it here.. but thankfully no one is quitting their jobs or spending their life savings.

Biblically, not only to you have the right to judge right and wrong according to the scriptures, but you have a responsibility to verify teachings and prophecies with the Word of God. The Bible has a lot to say about false prophets and the immense danger they pose to the church. You certainly should not "take from a man what he gives you". You should "test everything, hold on to the good" (1 Thess 5:21). God warns "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matt 7:15), "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' (Matt 7:23-24), "...there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift
destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute." (2 Peter 2:1-2), "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1).
God will not tolerate deception. Harold Camping is "bringing the way of truth into disrepute", and misleading millions.

But from an outsider's point of view ( i.e., NOT a follower of Harold Camping) it seems pretty obvious if the man making this prediction has NOT given away his fortune, has NOT sold his house(s) or done anything besides talk there's a good to great chance he himself doesn't believe what he's saying. This means that Harold Camping is at best a liar, seeking attention, or at worst a deliberate fraud, frightening the gullible into giving his organization more money. I have no pity for his blind followers who quit their jobs, gave away their savings, etc, because they should have been reading God's Word for themselves, instead of allowing someone else to tell them what it means. Perhaps this time they'll have run out of excuses, but I doubt it.

Everyone has there own opinion, God is always with us and when he feels its right to save us he will. We do not need to go around criticizing people for their opinion. I believe God is always with him and he will do as he pleases. On the other hand its not fair to get everyone in a panic.

The Bible does say that the end will come at a time you do not expect it, so, it is possible that this man may hit the "lottery" and have the date where the end BEGINS. There is a sequence of events that occur before the actual war of Armageddon.
And their is NO rapture, that is just old regurgitated fables, the word is not even in the Bible.
The first in the sequence? The destruction of organized religion. The second? The great tribulation, a time period just before Armageddon. The third? Armageddon, signaled by the proclamation by world rulers that true peace and security have been achieved.

I have a REALLY boring meeting to attend at 18:00 (6pm).. I'm actually hopeful. I'm sure it cause a delay in the meeting.
It has not happened yet because it starts at 6pm for everyone. So no matter where you are, it starts at 6pm. So go back to bed, you still have a few hours. Oh, the reason it is 6pm, because back in the bible days the day ends at 5:59pm and a new day starts at 6pm. I don't know why that changed to midnight in present times? I hope Camping is wrong, but if New Zealand gets an earthquake 6pm their time, i am going to start to freak. Of course, it will be 2am my time so i won't really know until I get up about 8:30am Eastern US time.

Do you really believe that any such "Word of God", translated and filtered through generations of men, each with their own agendas, would make it to the masses unscathed. Harold Camp is a false prophet. He has failed prophecies previously. The bible makes it very clear that there are many false prophets amongst us and Harold Camp is a false prophet just like Benny Hinn. The Bible is clear on where they are heading...so sad.

Next week the evangelicals will be out in force doing damage control. They'll insist that Harold Camping was always wrong, that he was a "false prophet" ... but they will ALSO insist that the "Rapture" and the "Tribulation" and the "Second Coming" WILL eventually occur, so we need to surrender to Jesus and make sure we're prepared.
Personally, I hope people will take time to reflect that we are living in the REAL WORLD, not a world of angels and demons, voodoo dolls and Santa Claus. There is no such thing as prophecy, except for the ambiguous, self-fulfilling kind. There is just the here and now, and our world is what WE make of it, not some imaginary beings up in the clouds somewhere.
This coming Sunday, after Harold Camping's apocalyptic dreams have failed to come true, take time to listen to John Lennon's "Imagine." Listen to the words and think about them. It's probably the best wisdom we have in this day and age.

Okay...i have been raised with the bible and all of it's prophecies were taught to me from childhood. This camping guy says May 21 is the 'rapture and judgment day' and that October 21 the world will be destroyed by fire. The way i have always and will continue to understand and believe is that #1-no man knows the day nor the hour. I don't follow Harold Camping, but I do believe he is sincere as the day is long. I will feel very bad for him if indeed he is still with us on May 22. Can you imagine what will be going through his head and being? He predicted incredible earthquakes all over the globe, each happening around 6:00 pm, and of course the rapture. Christ spoke of many things that will happen during the end times but he emphasized one particular event, deception. He repeated over and over that deception will be the number one danger for the world. The Bible says nothing of a Rapture, it does however say that no one knows the time or the day. While I believe these are the last days as all the signs are progressing in an astonishing rate, whether it happens tomarow (may 21st) or a week from tomarrow is anybodys guess.

Most definitely, it was the Lord’s intention to seal up His Word (the Bible) until the time of the end. But then notice, God points out how “none of the wicked” will be able to understand. Understand what? Well, He is referring to understanding the Word of God that will be unsealed at the time of the end. None of the unsaved of the world will understand these things, just like the people of the world of Noah’s day did not regard the warning of the flood and just like Lot’s sons-in-law dismissed the warning given to them to flee the city. Likewise today, none of the unsaved understand; however, “the wise” will understand. The “wise” understand only because of God’s great mercy. The Lord expresses this truth once again in these wonderful verses:

Finally, whether or not we know that May 21 in 2011 is Judgment Day rests on whether or not God has opened up our eyes to understand these things. If He has, we will know that May 21, 2011 is the Day of the Lord’s Wrath. If He has not opened our eyes, then we will not know. The Bible tells us that the majority of people in the world are not chosen to salvation. This is why Christ comes unexpectedly for billions of people. They do not understand spiritual things. Since they do not have God’s Spirit, they are not going to take warning and they are not going to understand. Sadly, they will surely perish.

You or your guest wondered how religious groups react when their prophesies (of end of the world) fail. Christian zealots are the most judgmental hypocrites around. The delicious irony of these hyper-religious folk is that their hero Jesus was the farthest thing from judgment and condemnation.
Christians are the first to judge, the first to deny equal rights, the first to treat us like we are idiots. Who are they to say who stays and who goes? No one knows what is in another person's heart. I've seen a lot of evangelical ministers that have stolen, been closet cases, lied, cheated and lived amoral lives counter to what they are preaching.
Organized religion is there to control people through fear. Perhaps they should refresh themselves with Jesus' original message about tolerance, love and forgiveness and get off their Christian high horses.

From my perspective, if people should sue Camping over this, they should probably go ahead and sue Jesus, too. Maybe no one is supposed to know the day or the hour , but Jesus did promise to return before a generation had passed, and soon. What's the use of communicating with humankind if your words have no meaning? If soon doesn't mean soon in human terms, why use the word at all? Harold Camping is a false profit. Yes PROFIT. While his followers sold everythng to spead his lies, he kept his radio sations, home and cars. Jesus was clear, NO ONE knows the day or the hour, not even himself, only the Father in heaven.
I thank God that in America we have freedom of religion, its our God given right. But when a false prophet like Harold Camping destroys so many people's lives world wide, its time for him to lose his non-profit status with the IRS. His followers who have lost everything should be able to collect damages from his organization.

It's unbelievable what Camping has proclaimed. If he states that God's Word in the Bible is "absolutely true" (and it is), then EVERYTHING is absolutely true. Including the verses concerning who knows the date of Judgement (only God Himself), and all the coming false prophets- such as Camping. Also, does the Bible not say that there would be more to come of our suffering before that day?
I honestly do pity the followers. If they learn from their mistakes and learn not to follow false prophets, God might forgive them. I'm in no position to judge, but I think everyone deserves a second chance. Of course, their naive actions don't go without punishment- if they've sold their possesions, then they will have to struggle.
As for Camping, I pity him for actually believing it. Like us all, we are born with sin in our blood. I will never follow him, but imagine what it'd be like to be him- believing in a coming Rapture today the way we believe that Jesus is our Saviour.

Harold Camping should not own a radio station coz it affects all people for his false prophecy and predictions. I pity those people who donated so much money they earned for so many years.... He should do good deed to other people not to disunite a family for choosing GOD over his family, Jesus will never do that even GOD the Father.....He should never ever predict again and he already deceived many people.... And on the brighter side, Churches with different beliefs unites as one against Harold Camping's predictions. 1st. he obviously KNEW this was not going to happen. WHY... again... WHY would you need to collect donations if you are predicting the world is going to end??? You wouldn't. There would be absolutely NO reason whatsoever to collect any money. If he was so convinced, and truly believed the world was going to end, and was true to christian faith, he would offer spiritual help. He would reach out and try to save more people so they would join the righteous in heaven! Maybe he did have good intentions... maybe. But something tells me that's not the case. Still, I don't know. BUT, I do find it very strange that a man who claims to know the Bible well, and who has predicted the end of the world in the past cannot grasp the part in the Bible that specifically specifies that NO MAN WILL KNOW THE DAY OR HOUR. Scientists even believed it. But there's a problem with that too. They said this is the closet the moon has been to the earth in 18 years. Ummmm..... that means we survived it before. The world DID NOT end. what makes this so different? yes, it has been proven that natural disasters are up by 20% and still rising, BUT, that does not mean the end of the world. Though, as a christian myself, I do see the signs. But people have been seeing signs of it getting closer for hundreds of years. It could be next week or it could be hundreds more years from now still. NO ONE knows. Not even the son of God himself. What makes this man think he will know before christ?? I know what. $$$$$$$.

Mathew 12 Jesus states he is preaching by the holy ghost. John 14 states holy ghost comes in future and is from someone else. Now refer back to John 10 about hearing from someone else and fleeing. John 5 states son of mans voice goes back in time. Mathew 16 Jesus claims to be the son of man.
1 cor 2 holy ghost is familiar with the story about a man on cross from READING about it. Isaiah 65 written in front of me is listed here and also what is not written is hidden from my eyes therefore not familiar with it found in the same chapter. john 7 Jesus says if you knew scripture you'd know if its his word or GODS words. john 12 Jesus admits the voice heard is NOT his.
