"God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.' So that all men He has made may know His work, He stops every man from His labor." Man, that is so true. We have got all our big schedules – our plans – until God intervenes with something we have absolutely no control over – the weather. It's a powerful reminder that we are not in charge and God is.
This tornado is not close to being the worst ever. My parents survived the 1925 tri-state tornado. One tornado touched down in Missouri and continued over a period of 3 hours for over 200 miles on the ground through Illinois and into Indiana. 695 persons were killed by this one tornado – 234 were killed in a single town (Murphysboro, IL).
