Kathy why are you such a wimp. You are not added value. exceptionalism. The President expressed it 20 times in hsi speech. Did you hear the speech? Why do you allow him to say anything with out and rebuttle. Be present if you are going to conduct an interview. I feel Boehner did a fine and respectful job at the speech. I feel he gave some powerful respectful responses. This is one of the first times I have been in agreement with him. I was very impressed with him. But I was so disappointed with your vanilla whimpy cross question. Please try to be of added value in the future with all of youe guest. Thanks Jim
In your statement to the Speaker about Michele Bachmann “the Tea Party can sometime be unruly” – Give me specific incident when the Tea party was unruly- and please do not give an example of one person? Get your facts straight before you make statements on live TV.
Yelling, screaming at town hall meetings and drowning out the speakers just because you don' agree with them; carrying posters with Obama as Hitler and a madman; bringing guns to the rallys and town hall meetings; Beating up and stepping on the throat of a photographer....these are only a few samples. There are many more!
Speaker Boehner demonstrated a high degree of humbleness and I have changed my prior negative opinion of him. However, I did learn one thing; Kathleen Parker is the worst interviewer I have ever seen. I hope never again to see her interviewing anyone else. Eliot would've been a lot more mature, professional, and effective.
CNN executed the most unprofessional interview. 15 or less mins. ridiculous questions. split the interview with spitzer
hill/rice who were more important than the speaker of the house. spitzer introduction before every sigment. then doing
weather rpt. prime time news going back to 2mins. or less for the interview. This interview was constantly advertised.
were they subverting their own interview.....?
What did Parker just say to Speaker Boehner? Obama did not say America was great...or Americans are great? Yes...he did not use the word 'exceptional'. So what? Is that the only word that expresses American greatness? That gave Speaker Boehner an opening for a talking point...Left does not talk about American greatness! They are afraid of it! What a lie! These Republican will lie through their teeth to get what they want. The last election was entirely based on Republican lies! Unfortunately, the great Americans are buying it..so I guess they deserve what they get! Budget cuts on the backs of middle class and cheesecake for the rich! Get some education, Parker.
Well, this is one of the weaker interviews of a major player in US politics I have seen on CNN. Ms. Parker could have done a better job, or maybe, Rep Boehner is just reserved in his responses. No real pressing questions. Feels like she is letting him off the hook on issues like, where/what programs would you cut; why on tax cuts for the rich and its impact on the deficit; the tea party and where they really differ with the GOP; The interview is leaving me yarning..... No real substance in the questions, and the responses are shallow! I was hoping for more.
"House Speaker John Boehner lays out his plans to cut spending and debt in an exclusive interview with "Parker Spitzer." Watch the full interview tonight at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on CNN."
Did the Speaker lay out 'his plans' to cut spending and debt tonight? Like he said the other day..."don't know what I am going to cut 'off the top of my head'...all that is there on top of his head is hair..may be he's going to get a hair cut. Republicans will not propose any cuts...they want democrats to take the blame....for services that are cut. That is why this talk about going back to 2008 budget or 2006 budget. That way they do not have to mention any programs. Politicians...
Kathleen is a conservative Rep. I expected her to be nice to Boehener. She could have at least asked harder questions. I would like to see Eliot interview him though I doubt Boehener will be up to that. Interesting to hear him say the that he's looking to form a closer relationship with the President and wants bipartisanship... I don't believe him, only time will tell.
My jaw dropped at Boehner's response to Parker's question about US exceptionalism. Were neither of them listening to President Obama's address???? There were numerous statements of US exceptionalism.
The President went so far as to say that America is the place where a young man who swept floors in his father's bar can become speaker of the house. How could Boehner possibly have missed that example of exceptionalism?!!! What nerve he has to say that the Left is afraid to mention our exceptionalism.
"Why do you think that is?" Parker asked as followup to his assessment. WHAT?!?!? I couldn't believe that Parker let him get away with that!!! She should have called him on it by quoting several parts of President Obama's address.
Parker didn't interview. It was pandering at its worst. I am disgusted by the interchange. Is no one paying attention?!
mr speaker boehner and the rest up in wash. can fix ss by putting back the 22trillon dollars the stole from hard working americans over the last 30 yrs. they do this by stoppig all foreign aid for next 10yr. and all people that get payed with tax payer money take a 10%cut in wages and a 5yr. freeze on increases. if they do this this solves alot of problems for the american people.also if they the gop thinks the new health care is uncontusional then may be we ban all people from having car ins. because it is also mandentory.
Across America this past Sunday, Americans paused to observe Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday, and reflect on all that the Gipper did for our great nation. When I think of Ronald Reagan, I remember a natural leader - someone who inspired me with his belief that our best days are still ahead and his confidence in the indomitable spirit of the American people.
Boehner and the rest of his group have NO solutions to the problems.

Obviously you do not watch much television or must've missed the coverage of the many Tea Party demonstrations held last year in Washington, D.C.

A good interview with an honourable man.

I agree. Though, I'm not too sure if John B. could handle being interviewed by Spitzer.
