Afghan War still worth fighting?

President Barack Obama asserted today (Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010) that the United States is making significant progress in the nine-year war in Afghanistan, but warned that the conflict "continues to be a very difficult endeavor."

For reaction and analysis, we asked two experts on the show: Peter Galbraith, a former U.S. diplomat who has served in Afghanistan, and Andrew Exum, a Fellow of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and who just returned from a trip to Afghanistan and met with General David Petraeus.

They sharply differed on how fast the U.S. should transition its role in Afghanistan (click here to read our fascinating web-exclusive OFF-SET interview with Galbraith).
