Why is it there is suck a lack of good analogies these days? If you pull you'r car into the garage and shut the door you're going to die. It does'nt happen instantly ,but it's going to happen. I saw An inconvenient truth and the most compelling part of the movie for me was the photo of the Earth from Voyager. The inability for most humans to accept the fact that our planet is a small place really rubs me the wrong way. If your guest and others like him really think the pollution that the people of this planet are pumping into the atmosphere is not going to bite us in the end they're kidding themselves. I know for a fact that you'r guest trusts the science behind not sitting in a garage with a running car. Lets stop letting the economic issues of being good stewards of our planet get in our way. Anything else is reckless and dangerous for the generations to come.
So ignorant. It's time you learned to do you own research instead of following the blind into the ditch.

Ignorant that's funny. I suppose you'r waiting to go to heaven too. Why take care of the Earth when there's something better waiting down the road? Earth is a gift to humankind. Like a child with a new toy. We are testing the limitations of our actions. Although warnings were issued the toy still got broken. Can it be fixed, will we learn to take care of our precious Earth? I'm but a worker ant in the colony hoping the right decisions get made so the next generation can prosper.
Mr Lomborg keeps saying WE.who are WE ? Is he talking about America or for all of the rest of the world? Is global worming an American problem or is it world problem? Obviosly he has no right nor the mandate to speak for the rest of the world, who belives the whole argument of global worming is just a hoax. Mr Lomborg, like every body else before him,is simply advocating huge investment to be made for the benefit of special intrest groups.Global worming is a hoax. And that is why every Major international confference starting from Kiyoto prtocol failed to reach an agreement.
I think most people will agree that investing in one cause, doesn't deprive another cause in a different area 100%. Different people invest for different reasons. While Global Warming is very important it's moving slower than HIV.. Hunger..etc., these are issues with more desperate needs. They should be taken care of first.

What a poorly worded headline. Mr. Lomborg is *not* a climate change skeptic. He is clearly in agreement with the overwhelming majority of climate scientists when he states that it is occurring, and that human-produced CO2 is the primary cause of the current warming trend. He is simply in disagreement about the way in which we are approaching (or *not* approaching, to be more accurate) solutions to this issue. To respond to Mr. Gebreyesus, it is a much more significant part of America that believes global warming is a hoax than the "rest of the world." This is not surprising, as the United States public lags far behind other developed countries (22nd to 25th, depending on which studies are used) in science literacy. When the public doesn't understand an issue, they throw up their collective hands and generally default to their politics. The political right and global climate change is a great example, as is the political left and nuclear power. Very unfortunate, as these are two areas that could provide a common ground for the currently polarized political landscape in America.

For your information, mother nature throws more co2 (forest fire) and volcanic ashes in the athmospher in few days, than any man made carbon combined in years.By the way,all plants need co2 and we need the plants for our oxygen. Our planet earth is placed in the right place in the universe and to imagine man can somehow change the temprature is a shear lie.
Sorry I was busy. Disrespecting mother nature is what the human race does every minute of every day.Deforestation,the gulf oil spill,industrial pollution, massive over fishing of our oceans. Read the articles on acidic oceans. The last time I checked the garage door opener on our atmosphere was broken. No exhaust fan to space. You'r right plants need co2, and that perfect balance has been thrown out of wack by humans lust for fossil fuels. What happens when mother nature needs to burb out a little co2. We can't account for mother natures actions, but we can account for are own. The only lies here are the ones your teling yourself.
