Spitzer: Fire Geithner!

In the opening of the debut of "Parker Spitzer," Eliot Spitzer says President Obama should fire Secretary of Treasury Tim Geithner because he's spent too much time helping Wall Street insiders and ignoring Americans on main street. And Kathleen Parker urges Sarah Palin to announce her intentions sooner than later to free up other potential Republican presidential candidates to make their decisions on whether to run.

Ok guys I have high hopes for this new show and I am going to be watching to see how you do. Now on the the Tim Geithner question. I say. He needs to go. Americans are working harder and longer. They are adding a second job and taking more time away from their families. This is not to live luxury lives but to merely survive. Its a sad day when you see more and more people suffering and the rich only getting richer at our expense. When companies like the airlines, wall street, oil companies and more boast over the top profits..where do you think those came from. We are fighting to buy food for our families and they keep coming up with new ways to charge us more and more. Tim hasn't created the jobs he said he would. If i didn't get results at my job. I'd be fired. So in the words of Donald Trump. Tim you're fired.

Watched the "Opening Arguments." Content and personalities seem fine but please, for the love of humanity, lose the streaming picture carousel in the background. I'm positively dizzy!!

I think they shouldn't talk so much about Sarah Palin.. the woman is a complete air head. They should talk about Hillary.

Fire Geithner, eh? One of the people who kept the economy from going off the cliff, and has been working 24/7 since to get the economy on track? We are talking about TIM Geithner, right?

Spitzer needs to get a clue.

OK. Good show. Now the issues. Sara Palin: This is definitely the person where hearing and seeing less, much less about her is MORE. As far as Sec. Geithner goes, why fire someone who I believe should spend a lot more time making sure that 1) we don't find ourselves here again and 2) If the time was not spent on them, there would be a lot more problems than time management. How about getting on Republicans for blocking votes that will help Main Street?

Again, Mr. Spitzer proves to be the smartest man or woman in the room! I do hope President Obama takes your advice, which he should have done from the beginning, and contact you to replace Geithner as soon as possible!

Mr. Obama should contact Spitzer as soon as possible. I think that Spitzer left NYC with a lot of unfinished business and I wished he would have stayed. Obama should be aware of how smart he is.

They could sure use a fresh direction / inspiration / strategy/ leadership on getting our economy back on track. After you do that, please communicate it to the American People. Mr. Geithner has never communicated leadership. It starts with character (filling out your own taxes) We need people with character representing us.....and maybe at CNN.

Honestly, this was incredibly boring. The tiny little round table of people was a very weak attempt at something new. Mr. Spitzer should stick to law. I gave it a try. No need to do it again. Sorry!

ok.. I didn't like the little round table neither.. they need space between the people they invite on their show. Is ok for Parker and Spitzer to be right next to each other but then as others came in they looked cramped up.

And stop interrupting and talking over one another. I had a hard time following the conversation and ultimately just tuned out.

The Rox got the btteer end of the deal. Matt was too much of a hot head...didn't really care for him much.Anyways, you know your teams sucks when the cleanup hitter is Ty Wigginton. I honestly think that Ty is sleeping with Jim Tracy, why else would he keep playing him and in the 5 hole???? Time to come out of the closet Jim.Do they hold hands in the dugout Travis?   0 likes

Elliot, I loved you tonight! Can we just slow it down a notch? Yes, Obama needs to clean house, go forward, get his mojo back, and talk to America, one on one. Look us in the eye Mr. President, tell us the truth, and lead this country. Every job has a learning curve and I think Obama had his big time. I also agree with Elliot that Obama came into one of the worse scenarios since Roosevelt. We need to cut him some slack, OK that's done, now Obama needs to come back like a lion.

I really enjoyed the show. There was good healthy discourse and mutual respect. They need to be careful not to talk over each other, I was expecting a less fast moving, fun environment but I was gladly mistaken. Kathleen is what Sarah Palin could only inspire to be – a smart, sophisticated women that gets her points across without overtly divisive language and fake folksiness. Eliot talks a lot ;) But he is poignant, relative and diverse in his views. I agree – FIRE GEITNER. A great addition to CNN and two likeable personalities that I wish continued success.

Great start on their new show. I'm sure there will be some refinements as the show continues. I am so happy that Eliot Spitzer is back in public to share his brilliant mind with us again. Minds like that should not be hidden from us – particularly in these times. So welcome back, Mr. Spitzer!! (And how about YOU replacing Mr. Geithner?)

Fantastic show – Spitzer "gets it" – finally a talking head with a BRAIN inside – even gets how the Tea Party is not just right or left – but a pox on BOTH houses and a legitimate voice! I was impressed, excellent guests too – please keep it going, and don't add 500 ads! I'll be watching.

CNN just handed Americans a soon to be hero. Spitzer in media is more lethal and effective than a New York AG or governor.

Just a teaser is his position against Big Banks and their entrenched influence inside the government and media. He was exposing the incestuous relationship among the Fed officials and Wall Street geniuses.

He cut off spins as clean as a samurai and without the recipient/guests feeling embarrassed.

Wish "Parker and Spitzer" thrives for CNN just gifted us with a balanced, intelligent and entertaining show that maybe a thorn to Too-Big-To-Fail banks/industries and their cabal.

Love your show! Contrary to other comments I find the discussion lively and respectful. I feel I learn something every time I tune in. I like your blog as well....my 2 law student daughters without CNN access can get an overview.

CNN is wise to bring two awesome people for dialogue. I am impressed with both.

Love the show. Spitzer is a genius. I wish them both the best of luck, I will be watching every night. He is very right, Obama needs to fire Geitner. How can you put the fox in charge of the hen house. Gave all those bailouts with out ant sticks attached. Send him back to WallStreet I know he has a multi million dollar job waiting for him by Goldman for ripping us all off.

    Dear Mr Spitzer

just wanted to thank you for exposing Rick Perry, the Gov of Texas for what he thinks he, a pretty face with some confused ideas about states rights and no actual philosophy to help this country move forward.

Have seen the show now only a couple of times. It's an excellent show with Spitzer asking penetrating questions. What a great idea: bring in a tough AG brought in to ask pertinent questions and making discussions a lot more insightful than any other new show. Keep up the great work.

I read that lsiaebn spaceship vampire story! It was good! Weird, but good. I actually quite enjoyed Daughters of Darkness, which included that story. I wasn't expecting to, since I haven't been that interested in vampire stories before. But lsiaebns make everything better.
